We’ve all heard of Uber, Didi and Ola.
The giant rideshare platforms, backed by billions from venture capitalists, all trying to get your personal transport dollars.
But would you be surprised to know that a Melbourne firm, based out of the Hub at Southern Cross, is giving these guys a run for their money when it comes to competing with their level of technology?
Cars on Demand is an Australian local provider, that operates across the whole of Australia but only does chauffeur driven cars, they too have an app, both on iOS and Android.
They also have number masking technology to keep your details private, car tracking, and a secure payment platform, so you don’t have to hand your card details to anyone. Speaking with one of the directors, I discovered that more than one well known Australian celebrity and politician have used the service.
The other difference is that they use professional drivers, who do this as a full time job, so when you ride with them, you can rest assured that you will not have to listen to the GPS helping the driver navigate to his destination – this is one thing I don’t love about ubers.
They are based in Melbourne but operate all across Australia, specialising in airport transfers. To be honest – it’s exciting to see an Aussie tech company taking the big guys on and winning.
