Our thoughts: Whether you are looking to host an intimate small ceremony or throw the wedding of the year, the State Library has a variety of potential settings to hold the event. There are 5 rooms to choose from including the Isabella Fraser Room, The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall, La Trobe Reading Room, North Rotunda and the Cowen Gallery.

Vue De Monde

Crown Melbourne

Location: Southbank

Capacity: 500 people in a cocktail setting or 400 for a seated banquet.

Cost: We couldn’t find any pricing, you’ll need to inquire on your own for this one.

Our thoughts: The team at Crown offer their own wedding planners to help you make the most of their many potential wedding venues across the establishment. Combined with their world-class chefs on staff it’s easily one of the most audacious venues available.

The Hotel Windsor

Location: Melbourne CBD

Capacity: 180 for a wedding reception with dance floor

Cost: On the pricey side.

Our thoughts: Hotel Windsor features 3 rooms suitable for a wedding, large or small. One of them is even heritage listed – the Grand Ballroom. It is an incredible romantic venue and it’s walls hold the memories of more than 130 years of weddings.
