With white walls reflecting the hospitable charm of the staff, the vibe is easy-going and inviting. Six tantalizing craft beers grace the taps, offering a glimpse into the brewing artistry that unfolds behind the scenes.
Beginning with a citrus pale ale, I was struck with the vibrant refreshment of mandarin and grapefruit. This delicious brew primed my palate for the culinary delights to come, courtesy of their unique ‘Chef’s Table’ option.
A labor of love by founder and lead brewer, Nic Sandery, the ethos of this establishment—honesty, hospitality, humility, hard work, and ingenuity—echoes the virtues of his grandmothers, Molly and Rose.
Following a recent expansion in February, the menu was launched in March, merging effortlessly with the brews.
The first course was a delightfully inventive beer cocktail, paired with pork crackling. The cocktail was an audacious symphony of flavors, mimicking a lemon tart explosion that perfectly complemented the rich, salty crackling.
The standout of the meal was unquestionably the smoked rib. Bathed in a vibrant citrus finger lime sauce, it danced on the palate with divine smoky and citrus notes.
This was followed by a farmhouse ale, rich with the luscious flavors of peach and nectarine. Aged in barrels and prepped akin to champagne, this beer pairing with heirloom tomatoes and sashimi was a study in delicious balance.
Further surprises came in the form of seaweed triad accompanied by a creamy pumpkin purée, topped with a fondue and paired with a plum farmhouse ale.
Their creations may give you mad scientist vibes, but believe me, they pull off every experiment with aplomb.
Ending the evening with a tour of the brewery was a fitting tribute to the passion, dedication, and sheer hard work that has brought Molly Rose to life.
