In Sunshine, between Glengala Road and Kororoit Creek Road, on a course known as “The Rock and Thistle,” Mt. Derrimut Golf & Community Club was founded in 1923. On July 9th, 1923, local business people interested in starting a golf club met at the State Bank of Sunshine to start the club. Craig Parry and Pacific Coast Design created the golf course at Mt. Derrimut to complement the location’s historic significance. Several of the first buildings from the past have been preserved and are still in use by the Club, and the clubhouse integrates the farmhouse constructed in 1883.
